Tony Snow - Colon Cancer Finally Claimed His Life

It is quite likely that you have never met this man but can certainly recognize him by his face, title and name. Tony Snow was a former White House Press Secretary. Previously an employee at Fox News, Tony Snow's colon cancer was diagnosed in February, 2005 while he was 51 years old and still associated with the same news channel.

Snow was successfully treated for the cancer as he underwent chemotherapy for 6 months. He resumed broadcasting after 2 months of his diagnosis, i.e, April 2005. However, it has already been 2 years that he bid goodbye to his colon cancer, the same threat befall on him yet again as his same cancerous condition reoccurred on March 23, 2007. Being a press secretary at this time for a year now, the news ruptured the White House.

He then underwent a surgery to remove the cancerous growth inside his abdominal area, close to the position of original cancer. Doctors determined that it is a cancerous growth and has spread to his liver.

Treatment for the continuously increasing cancer led to his inevitable absences from duties during his few last months as the pres secretary, public speaking duties and as the commentator of CNN.

In the early hours of July 12, 2008, Snow finally had to surrender to the deadly colon cancer as he died at the Georgetown University Hospital. To the Snow's death, the former President George H. W. Bush commented that Snow had an ability to convey 'a certain civility to this very contentious job.'
